Cologne is a popular German city to visit for UK tourists. On the eastern side of the country, it's easy to get to and get around and offers a fantastic experience for any groups looking to improve their German, visit a Christmas market or enjoy international culture.

The city centre contains a safe pedestrianised precinct with fun and affordale shops. Groups can explore the city or be set challenges to test their German before meeting back up to visit the splendid Cathedral that dominates the city skyline. Close to the city are excellent day-trip options including the zoo which is known for its exotic animals and good play areas. Another excellent visit is Phantasialand, a superb themepark for thrill seekers which has short queues and excellent rides such as the adrenaline junkie's favourite 'Taron' as well as one of the best log flumes anywhere.

Accommodation options are plentiful, many of which have games rooms, chill out zones and outdoor spaces with basketball hoops or table tennis. It means that everyone can enjoy their downtime in between a fun-filled time in the city.

Tour Resources

Whether you’ve done a hundred trips or this will be your first, organising to travel away is no small undertaking and we want to help you to make the organisational process as easy as possible.

Quote > Perfect > Launch > Book

Make sure you check out our blog which contains 10 key trips to help you launch your trip successfully - Tour Launch Blog

Step 1 – get a quote

We know you might have to get a few quotes but we’d love you have 10 minutes of your time on the phone to understand more about your group and to explain what we can offer. If previous tours could be improved on then let us know and we’ll tailor a proposal to meet your requirements. After one conversation we’ll then send you emailed price proposals.

Step 2 – narrow it down

We don’t expect the first offer to be perfect, let us know how the first quote compared to your expectations, we’ll then adapt it further

Step 3 – launch the trip

We’ll provide you with a parent version of the quote proposal that you can send out with pictures and links to give as much information as possible.

Step 4 – collect deposits and finalise your tour

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a first deposit payment and completed booking form. A list of passenger names (as per passports) may be required for flight bookings.

Yes, we can help you organise an inspection trip or there might be places available on our set inspection trips – see our Inspection Trips webpage for further information.

The basic ratio is 1:10 for flight tours and 1:8 for coach trips. However, if your group requires a different ratio, we will work with you to ensure that you get what you need. This may include extra free places of calculating a separate tour price for any paying passengers.

There’s no right answer to this although we would recommend first time trip organisers look 12-18 months ahead whilst experienced trip organisers may want 9 months plus if heading to a new resort. We do want all trips to be as accessible as possible and whilst financial climates ebb and flo, giving students and parents a long lead in time will help them plan ahead and will stop you having to chase payments.

We know rooming allocations are key to pupils heading away. We request them about 4 weeks before departure, but confirmation of rooming may not come until right before you leave, especially if you are travelling in one of the busier times of year. If you have specific rooming requirements, then let us know.
